Daphne, or Hellfire at The Greenhouse
The Greenhouse (created by BoxedIn Theatre) was the first zero-waste venue at The Edinburgh Fringe in 2019. It was a sustainable venue hosting eight ecologically themed productions, and upholding a zero-waste policy on all marketing, costuming, and set/prop design. Even the venue itself was built from recycled materials. Isla's ecofeminist play, Daphne, or Hellfire , was part of this green theatre initiative, where the sustainable means of production matched the environmental concerns of the work: a marriage of content and form. The Greenhouse was chosen by TheStage as one of Edinburgh's top five venues.
